The Better than Sex Mascara by Too Faced is by far the best mascara I have ever laid my hands on! I will have to grab as many as I can get my hands on! *Makes grubby fingers”. So is this most raved about product better than sex? How bout I let you decide… This mascara is built around the idea of getting full-blown Bambi lash volume. It is intensely black mascara with an hourglass shaped brush that gives you the maximum volume while separating each lash in the process. The hourglass shaped brush is suppose to be inspired by a women’s curves designed with stiff bristles to boost the performance, if you know what I mean. 😉 One or two coats add noticeable length and volume, add a few extra coats and you’ll have yourself Bambi lashes on fleek for sure! It is waterproof resistant and this bad boy won’t budge at all once its dry. Still, it does take a few minutes for it to dry properly but who’s complaining if it’s supposed to be better than sex right?

The name alone screams Holy Grail product, but can we talk about how cute the packaging is. The light pink packaging is cute and appealing. The steel pink tube with the stamped and engraved typography is nicely done. The package goes with the name, that’s for sure! Although it is quite pricey, do you really want to put a price on something that will take you to lengths you couldn’t imagine? See what I did there. 😉 But really, you know how they say the best things are made overtime? It took Too Faced two years to perfect this product, so you best believe they are delivering! So really who needs false lashes when you have Better Than Sex? Really guys, go get yours now and thank me later!

– Until Next time! Xx

Top Eyeliner’s: Drug Store & Name Brand!

I’m going to share with you my most liked eyeliners that I use and will stand by! I have favourites from both Drug Store and Name Brand products so some are a little bit pricey but totally worth it! Hope you enjoy!

The Kat Von D Tatto Liner “Trooper”
Are you really surprised? TATTOO Liner says it all! You would think it’s felt tip, but it’s totally not! The picture doesn’t do justice but the tip is made up of little bristles making it a very fine and pointed brush! It’s easy to use once you get the hang of it and I can go to sleep knowing when I wake up my eyeliner will still be plastered to my eyelids! Yeah, it’s that good.

They’re Real Push-Up Liner
This Eyeliner can be a little tricky to use with the applicator, but I like the way my eyeliner comes out with this product! It is a really intense black and the product is really creamy. If I’m going to use a gel like liner, this would be it! The product lasts all day and is a little difficult to remove, so I recommend an oil based make up remover to get rid of it!

Wet n Wild Mega Liner
This is the best drug store liquid liner brand I’ve come across and its super cheap! It has a brush applicator and is a very intense black. It goes on smooth and it’s easy to create a thin line for a subtle look. It goes on clean and drys quick! I definitely recommend this if your looking for a cheap liner that works wonders.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil
Creamy pencil liners that last forever and come in a wide variety of colours! These pencil liners are waterproof and very pigmented. If your looking for good quality pencil liners, these are it! They are creamy and blend-able that will dry after 30 seconds and will not budge!

MAC Fluidline Gel Liner
This Gel liner is ultra smooth and very pigmented. It has a velvety finish to it and goes on intense. Apply it with a eye line brush and create whatever look you want, whether is thick for intensity or a thin subtle line. It is long lasting and smudge proof. It comes in a wide variety of colours and can be great to use for a pop of colour.

Stilla All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner
This is a waterproof felt tip eye liner that is intense in colour. It lasts all day and goes on smooth, without any pulling or smudging giving a clean line with precision. Revlon ColorStay Liquid Liner
This liquid linear uses a felt tip applicator and glides on smoothly giving your eyes an intense black line. It’s great for a drug store brand and isn’t too pricey. It’s long lasting and great for users with oily skin combination. It has great reviews and is another awesome drug store liquid liner.

Sonia Kashuk Eye Definer

Lise Watier Liquid Liner
This is another liquid liner that I use every now and then, It’s a very intense black and gives you a clean line. It can be a little tricky with the fine brush applicator, I wouldn’t recommend it for beginners. The fine brush makes it easy to line right at the base of your lash line which helps make your lashes look fuller.

It has a smooth and creamy glide which avoids pulling on your eyelids, It lasts all day and is smudge proof which is great for the summer! It works great on your waterline and is very pigmented.

These are my top favourite eyeliners in both Drug Store and Name Brand products. I do like using liquid liner the best for the intensity it gives, but these are my go-to in a wide variety of liners.

HIT or MISS: Provocalips 16HR Kissproof Lip Colour

Screen Shot 2015-02-26 at 9.26.38 PMRimmel London came out with a lip colour line that lasts you throughout the day! The Rimmel London Provovalips 16 HR Kissproof Lip colours come in 10 different shades. It’s a two step lip gloss that is pigmented in colour, almost like a liquid lipstick. Step 1: You apply the colour to your lips and keep the lips apart for 60 seconds to let the colour set. Step 2: You apply the top coat on to lock the colour and give it moisture to your lips.

Down below are the 10 available colours in the Provocalips 16HR Kissproof Lip Line:

Screen Shot 2015-02-26 at 9.52.13 PM

So is this product a HIT or MISS?
The packaging is really cute and it has a doe foot sponge applicator on both the ends. The product itself is runny rather than a thick consistency, so be careful. The lip colours don’t have any specific scent to them. I applied two layers of the product just to make it more pigmented, but the pigment is good overall. After applying the lip colour doing both steps, my lips weren’t dry and it went on and felt smooth on my lips. The product doesn’t make your lips feel tight and you can layer it without making your application look too thick. I tested it to see if the product would transfer but it stayed on without any transfer right after I applied it. After going about my day, several hours passing it did not smudge and the lip colour was still on my lips and did not make my lips feel dry. I didn’t have to touch up my lip colour through out the day and took it off at the end of the day with an oil based make up remover. All in all, I believe the product did what it was suppose to do and it lasted throughout the entire day. My favourite shades are Dare to Pink, Pucker Up, Play with fire and Heart Breaker.
This lip product is definitely a HIT ladies! If your looking for a drug store brand lippy that lasts all day, this would be it!

Enjoy! xx

How to fight dry skin & Hair in the Winter!

Winter Tips Banner

The Winter season is amazing! Fun Holidays, oversized sweaters, Christmas cheer, blankets of snow to play in or even building a snowman with Elsa. But you know what sucks? The dry spell… Get your mind out of the gutter, I mean the rough, itchy, flaky and irritated patches of skin from the icy temperature and whipping winds of Winter. Being outside in the cold and the Sahara heated temperature inside doesn’t help your skin look or feel it’s best. I have dry skin generally, but you can only imagine how it is in the winter! Therefore, I am going to share with you the tips and tricks I do to fight the dry skin and hair in the Winter.

Dry skin – Body:

  • Although in the cold everyone loves to just stand in the steaming hot shower stream for a long period of time, it doesn’t help your skin! Change your 20 minutes of hot showers to 10 minutes of warm showers. It keeps from stripping the natural oils in your body that is used to avoid dry skin.
  • Exfoliate your entire body head to toe at least 2-3 times a week. If you have dead skin building up, it will block and put a barrier for when you are trying to nourish your skin with lotion and oils. Therefore, exfoliating will help get rid of the dead skin that is built up on your body.
  • Lather your body up with lotion or body butter right after you get out of the shower. Yes, it requires some extra work but trust me it is worth it in the long run! Do not wait to do this after your shower, the longer you wait your skin will dry up. You can also you natural oils that are good for dry skin in substitute for the lotion. For example, argan oil, coconut oil, jojoba oil and shea butter are good for the skin.
  • Taking a bath with Two cups of powdered milk is really great for the skin! It helps keep the skin nourished, fighting dryness. The Lactic acid in the milk fights against dry skin. It sounds weird in theory to dump two cups of milk powder in your bath, but it could be worse and it works so theres that.
  • Switch out your soap bars or body wash that you use normally and use soap bars and body washes that have cocoa butter or shea butter in it. It will help a little more with keeping your skin nourished.
  • Cracked heels – To help avoid your heels being dry or getting cracked. Scrub your feet at least twice a week with a pumice stone and apply a thick layer of cream or butter to it. Also use natural oils, for example vitamin E oil is really good for cracked skin.
  • Overall, dressing warm and properly for the cold winter is also helpful. Dressing weather appropriately helps build a barrier  from the cold winter and the wind, which can prolong the drying effect the cold has on your skin.

Dry skin – Face:

  • Use a gentle facial cleanser or one that has hydrating ingredients in it such as lactic acid. Also, use a moisturizer that has SPF in it and doesn’t dry out your skin. There are many moisturizers that cater to sensitive and dry skin.
  • Just like your body, for the same reason it is important to exfoliate your face at least 2-3 times a week to help get rid of the dead skin build up.
  • Use a facial mask at least once a week aimed to hydrate and nourish your skin. There are many face masks that are targeted for dry skin. Most face masks are targeted for anti-aging, but thats okay because as your skin gets older it drys out even more. Therefore, using a face mask for 15-20 mins every week can go a long way.
  • Your Eyes are the most sensitive area on your face, therefore paying more attention and taking care of them can only benefit you better. Using an eye cream every night can help keep your eyelids and eye area stay well nourished and can help avoid dark eyes or eye bags.

Chapped Lips:

  • Always have lip balm with you so when you step outside you can apply a healthy layer to avoid chapped lips. Once you keep the habit of always having one on you, you’ll start to use it more often. When you step outside in the cold, theres nothing protecting your lips, so applying lip balm helps build a barrier from the cold winds.
  • Exfoliate your lips at least three times a week to flake away the dead skin and keep your lips smooth and healthy. You can use a lip scrub or even just a tooth brush to exfoliate the dead skin off of your lips.
  • Okay, We have all been guilty for doing this, but it is really bad for you! Do NOT lick your lips to get rid of them feeling dry. Your saliva is used to to help digest and break down your food, so you can only imagine what it’s doing to your lips. Yes for those quick 10 seconds your lips won’t be dry, but all your really doing is helping your lips get even more chapped in the future.
  • When your applying makeup to your lips such as lip linear, gloss or lipstick, make sure you use a lip balm before you do that to help your lips stay nourished! Those products could get your lips to feel dry so do yourself a favour and apply a healthy amount of lip balm before applying your makeup! It helps.

Dry Hair:

  • Just like everything else, Exfoliate your hair! No, Im kidding. But avoid washing your hair every other day, It’s gross to say but the less you wash it the better! Ha, In all seriousness washing your hair more then you need to is stripping the natural oils of your hair which causes your hair to turn dry. Use a good dry shampoo to avoid a wash and keep your natural hair oils!
  • Conditioner is your best friend! Yes, I don’t use a lot of conditioner when I wash my hair because It tends to make my hair oily faster. But, in the winter when your my hair starts to get dry, I welcome the conditioner!
  • Deep condition your hair at least once a week. Use a good hair mask or a deep conditioner and leave it on for 10-15 minutes and rinse it out. It will keep your hair well nourished and shiny, not to mention healthier. Some good deep conditioners or hair masks are the Macadamia oil hair mask and not so pricey, the Aussie 3-minutre miracle hair mask. They both work wonders!
  • Use a lot of oils in your hair! When your styling your hair make sure to use heat protectant, but after you style it a good hair serum or oil goes a long way. Do a hot oil treatment at least once a week. Take castor and coconut oil and warm it up in the microwave a little and apply it as a hair mask. Sometimes I leave it in over night if I have to and it’s just awesome.

So these are the Winter survival tips to fight dry skin and dry hair. I try to keep up with them and do these tips as often as I can and it really does work! Trust me when I say, I wouldn’t go through all that extra work if it didn’t help! And if that doesn’t keep you out of the dry spell, then I don’t know what will! 😉 Make your Winter a warm toasty, dry-free one!  Enjoy!! xx
